Top 5 sneakers of 2015

Well its that time of year again. Let's review the year that was, and which kicks stood out the most. We saw awesome releases from brands such as Saucony, Puma, New Balance and much more. Some companies made a late run, others applied the pressure all year round to let you know that they aren't messing around when it comes to the sneaker game. Take a look at the list that I put together below for the top 5 sneakers of 2015.

5. Nike Air Force 1 High “Wheat”

The Wheat forces made an appearance on last years list, and here they are again just a little refined. One of the most notable changes to the shoe being the classic air force one strap, the wheat’s came on to the scene strong in November of 2015. Still going strong today, some people are buzzing to get their hands on a pair. With Adidas and Kanye stepping there game up big time, we’ll see how Nike can compete in 2016. Shouldn’t be a problem as releases like the High wheat’s are the ones we love from the brand.

CNCPTS x New Balance 997 “Luxury Goods”

Some might think these shoes are too “loud” or too orange but new balance did a hell of job with this release. Suede and leather all around, protected by an orange coat the 997 was one of the most slept on releases of the year. These shoes can go with pretty much any season, that’s what I like the most about them, the fact that I can put them to use a lot. New Balance remained dominant this year, staying quiet but successful as usual. The last two to three years has shown a lot of promise for the brand as they continue to collaborate with different companies as well as expand their reach to all different types of consumers.

Addidas Yeezy Boost 750

Okay so I’ll admit it, I was one of the people who was skeptical when the Yeezy Boost 750’s first dropped. I thought they were ugly, and they couldn’t be worn with anything. Boy was I wrong. The more I saw them in person, the more that I liked them. Ye had me on the fence for a while, but once I saw how many different ways that the shoes could be worn as well as the different styles that could go with it, I was sold. I’m not too excited about the all black pair that is slated to drop, but that’s just because I don’t like black sneakers. They will be a solid offering as well as we’ve seen celebs such as The Weeknd & Travis Scott show us the pairs they got from Ye.

Adidas Ultra Boost

Marc Dolce, Mark Miner, and Denis Dekovic leaving Nike was the best thing to happen in Adidas history. The three of them have put Adidas on another level and its arguable that Adidas is the best sneaker brand out right now. One release that the company nailed was the Ultra Boost. Its funny because Adidas has always had great athletic shoes, its magnified now though. The whole athletic culture transitioned to street wear and the Ultra Boost have become a staple for sneaker heads out there. Simple in design and great on the eye, the Ultra Boost are right up there with any sneaker that was released this calendar year.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350

I mean, was there really a surprise as to what shoe I was going to choose as number one? The Yeezy Boost 350 may be one of the best sneakers of all time. I must say, I’m happy that Kanye left Nike for Adidas. He’s focused much more on the design side of things and has pumped out release after release. What’s not to like about the 350’s? Some say that they look like Roshe Runs, but you can spot the clear differences in design. Not to mention that the Yeezys are much more comfortable than Roshe Runs. That makes it two years in a row now that Ye has punched a number one spot on my top 5 sneaker list, can he do it next year and make it a 3-peat?
